Pablo Lyle, a telenovela actor, was given a five-year jail sentence due to a road-rage incident that resulted in the death of one man in Miami.
On Friday, 36-year-old Lyle was present in court for his sentencing while wearing a jail jumpsuit.
On October 4th, a jury declared the actor guilty of the 2019 assault of 63-year-old Juan Ricardo Hernández. The altercation took place during a dispute related to traffic, and was caught on video surveillance. The actor had punched Hernandez and knocked him to the ground.
Hernández experienced a traumatic brain injury from a fall that caused internal bleeding, leaving him in an unconscious state. Later on, he had to be taken off life-support.
Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez granted Lyle a sentence of mercy after observing his regret. He was initially facing between 9.25 and 15 years for his manslaughter conviction, as reported by NBC Miami.
It has been reported that in addition to other requirements, Lyle must take part in anger management classes, perform 500 hours of community service, and be under probation for a period of eight years.
Lyle was a prominent actor in multiple telenovelas, such as Mi adorable maldición and La sombra del pasado. Additionally, he was featured in an original Netflix serious called Yankee.
During the hearing, Lyle mentioned that the demise of Hernández had left a lasting impression on him. He claims to still feel haunted by his criminal actions to this day.
