Teen shot in the head while sitting in parked car

In a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, a 16-year-old girl, thought to be an uninvolved observer, was critically wounded after she was shot in the head. The shooting incident took place in the vicinity of a school in Queens while the young girl was seated in a parked car.

The teenager was in a car near P.S. 015 Jackie Robinson on Lucas Street, close to 121st Avenue in St. Albans, when she was hit around 8:30 p.m., as reported by law enforcement.

Authorities believe that the girl was an incidental victim, caught up in a disagreement that escalated into gunfire between two conflicting groups. There was a bullet hole visible in the window of the Hyundai SUV where she was seated at the time of the shooting.

Following the incident, the young girl was immediately transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she remains in a critical condition. No suspects have been arrested yet in connection to the shooting.
