Teen Beats Family Up With Frying Pan After Being Told To Clean Their Room

An alleged Florida teen beat his guardian to the point of death when she told him to clean his room, leading authorities to charge him with attempted murder.

Tobias “Toby” Brewer has been identified as the suspect in the arrest report obtained by PEOPLE.

Police found the victim in the laundry room of the family’s Cocoa, Fla., home on November 30th. The victim was visibly beaten and suffering from multiple stab wounds. According to the report, her nose was “almost completely detached” and she was covered in blood from the attack.

Police say Brewer’s guardian is his relative, but not his biological mother. In her report to responding officers, she claims that the teen was to blame for the attack.

She was airlifted to a hospital where she was listed in critical but stable condition.

A police investigation revealed 17-year-old Brewer and his girlfriend fled the house in the victim’s car after the incident.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office captured him after he crashed the car and led deputies on a foot chase near Interstate 95.

In a police interview, Brewer allegedly confessed to beating the victim with a frying pan until the handle broke. The police report states that he then switched to a pocket knife and repeatedly stabbed her.

Brewer allegedly admitted he attacked his guardian because she was “constantly harping” about cleaning his room, the report states.

Brewer also faces charges for criminal conspiracy, fleeing with disregard of safety to persons, and grand theft of a motor vehicle, according to jail records.

Uncertainty surrounded whether Brewer pleaded guilty or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
