Skull found on trash pile leads to discovery of more human remains

HOUSTON, TX – The unsettling discovery of possible human remains outside a North Houston home has prompted an investigation by the Houston Police Department as they work to identify the deceased.

Connie Guerrero and her sister made the grim discovery on McIntosh Street. They were preparing to dispose of old mattresses when they found a skull resting on top. Shocked, they immediately contacted authorities.

“We were just coming home from breakfast,” Guerrero recounted, “and there it was, right on the trash we were putting out.”

Upon arrival, police officers secured the area and began their investigation. Officers noted that the skull appeared to have been buried for some time, as dirt filled its crevices.

Witnesses described seeing a homeless woman in the area with the skull. Police located the woman, who then led them to a site with additional remains. An anthropologist from the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office was called in to assist with the recovery.

The discovery has left the Guerrero family and the community shaken. “It’s too close to home,” Guerrero said, expressing her concern and curiosity about the identity of the remains.

As the investigation continues, the Medical Examiner’s office is working to determine the cause of death and identify the individual. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.

Residents are left contemplating the mystery, hoping for closure for the family of the deceased. Guerrero expressed a shared sentiment: “I hope someone finds peace knowing their loved one has been found.”
