WAYNE, NJ – Pandemonium broke out at a high school football match between Lenape High School and Passaic Technical Institute in Wayne, New Jersey, after gunshots were fired, injuring two individuals. The incident, which occurred on Friday evening, led to a frenzied scene as students scrambled in fear and police rushed to secure the school grounds.
An eyewitness described the terrifying moments, revealing she observed two victims in the aftermath of the shooting. Another witness, a parent whose daughter participates in one of the school’s bands, reported hearing the disconcerting sound of gunfire emanating from the parking lot. The mother’s vehicle, which was at the scene, has since been incorporated into the ongoing investigation.
Lenape High School promptly assured its community about the safety of its students and staff, releasing an official statement. “All Lenape High School (LHS) students and staff are safe and unharmed,” the statement read, confirming the apprehension of the suspect.
