Sex offender tracked and arrested after missing Arizona teen found

A missing 14-year-old girl from Arizona was found in the basement of a Utah home belonging to a convicted sex offender.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is advising parents to monitor their children’s social media activity, and talk to them about the dangers of human trafficking. The teenager was on juvenile probation and had an ankle monitoring device, which helped the authorities locate her. If it wasn’t for that she may not have been found.

The girl was first reported as a runaway by her father, but left the evening before. The suspect, Jordan Sorenson, is accused of communicating with the girl on the social media app TikTok, offering to have food delivered to her house, and driving eight hours to meet her.

Sorenson was arrested by the Utah Attorney General’s Office and is facing potential new criminal charges from the attorney general’s human trafficking unit. He was already on probation for a sexual extortion case that he was convicted of in 2020.
