Restaurant owner shot to death while taking out the trash

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two juvenile suspects were apprehended by the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) on Wednesday evening. They were taken into custody in connection to the shooting of restaurant owner Shaun Brady, 44. The owner of the restaurant was found fatally wounded behind his establishment near 63rd and Rockhill Road.

Officials report that the suspects were taken into custody within an hour of the shooting initially taking place. Reports indicate that the young suspects opened fire on Brady on the same day around 5:15 p.m.

Responding to the incident, emergency services managed to transport Brady to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Investigators believe that Brady encountered the group of perpetrators while taking out the restaurant’s trash.

Reports from eyewitnesses indicate that the gun was fired when Brady intervened to stop a break-in into a vehicle. Shortly after, KCPD found the vehicle in question and apprehended the suspects in the Midtown area.

Charges are yet to be filed, and the police have not disclosed the exact ages or identities of the suspects. Unless charged as adults, the suspects are unlikely to be publicly identified. The KCPD refrained from answering inquiries about the suspects’ ages.
