Restaurant owner charged with harboring a fugitive

HOUSTON, TX – One of the founders of a popular local eatery is facing serious legal troubles. Nakia Holmes, associated with the Turkey Leg Hut, is charged with a felony for allegedly obstructing the arrest of her boyfriend, Jonathan Sason, who is accused of violent crimes against his former partner.

Court documents reveal that Holmes allegedly allowed Sason to stay at her Cypress residence despite knowing there was an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from allegations that Sason assaulted his ex-girlfriend with a tire iron and kidnapped her earlier this month.

Authorities reported that when officers attempted to apprehend Sason, Holmes denied any knowledge of his whereabouts during a traffic stop. However, her account reportedly changed after officers witnessed Sason fleeing her property.

The district attorney’s office has set Holmes’ bond at $10,000. Meanwhile, details of the initial incident have emerged, painting a disturbing picture. Sason reportedly visited his ex-girlfriend under the pretense of retrieving personal items. Once inside her home, he allegedly assaulted her and forcibly took her to another location.

According to court records, the victim endured six hours of captivity before being released at a hospital. Sason allegedly agreed to take her there after she promised not to press charges.

Both Holmes and Sason are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. The case has drawn considerable attention due to Holmes’ connection with the Turkey Leg Hut, a restaurant that has seen its share of ups and downs.

The local community remains on edge as they await further developments in the case, which has added another chapter to the ongoing saga of the Turkey Leg Hut’s founders.
