SOUTHGATE, CA – A fiery crash in Southgate early this morning left multiple vehicles damaged, including one that burst into flames. New footage reveals the extent of the chaos, with debris scattered across the roadway.
Authorities have confirmed that at least one local business sustained damage during the incident. Eyewitness accounts and police updates indicate the crash resulted from a street race gone awry, involving two cars that collided and lost control.
The scene, now cleared, still bears visible reminders of the crash, including tire marks on the sidewalk and damage to the business where one vehicle crashed. Earlier video footage captured one car engulfed in flames, adding to the scene’s dramatic nature.
In total, six cars were involved, with police stating that four of them were parked at the time of the crash. The video evidence shows significant destruction, with shattered glass and vehicle debris littering the area.
The crash occurred just before midnight on Tweedy Boulevard, directly across from Southeast High School. Police officers were seen evaluating a man at the scene before taking him into custody.
An arrest has been made on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police reports. Remarkably, no injuries have been reported despite the severity of the crash.
