Police sergeant and wife found dead in alleged murder-suicide

HOMER GLEN, IL – Tragedy struck in Glendale Heights as a local police sergeant and his wife died in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide. The couple in question were Michael Huff, a long-serving police sergeant, and his wife Jackie Huff, a former Glendale Heights employee.

The Glendale Heights Police Department revealed that Michael Huff served in the police force for over two decades, having been promoted to sergeant in June 2020. In wake of this horrifying event, the police department expressed deep sadness. They stated that this loss has created a profound void within the Glendale Heights community and extended their sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Michael and Jackie Huff.

The gruesome incident reportedly transpired on Sunday when a 911 call reported an argument followed by gunshots at the couple’s Homer Glen residence. Arriving at the scene, deputies discovered the bloodied bodies of a man and woman on the kitchen floor.

Detectives launched an immediate investigation, which led to an initial evaluation deeming the incident a murder-suicide. According to Glendale Heights police, it appears that Michael Huff shot Jackie Huff before turning the gun on himself.

The investigation is in progress with the Will County Sheriff’s Office, and the local law enforcement is collaborating to provide any helpful information. As per the Sheriff’s Office, the deaths are being treated as an isolated incident and will proceed with an autopsy.
