Police find 15-year-old girl shot to death in apartment

LOWELL, MA – Investigators in Lowell, Massachusetts, are currently looking into what appears to be a homicide case. Local authorities confirmed that a 15-year-old girl was found dead in an apartment from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office relayed this information, stating that the initial 911 call came from a family member of the deceased teenager. The family member first discovered the young teen’s body in a Lowell Street apartment shortly after 6 p.m. Friday.

As described by the family member, the girl’s body showed signs of traumatic injury. Superintendent Greg Hudon of the Lowell police confirmed that when they arrived at the scene of the crime, officers observed the victim with apparent gunshot injuries. Police also found numerous shell casings in close proximity to the teen’s body.

Investigators acquired a search warrant late Friday night and conducted a search of the apartment. The leading District Attorney, Marian Ryan, specified that the investigation was still very active as of Saturday afternoon.

The ongoing investigation into the suspected homicide is being carried out in tandem by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit dedicated to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office itself, and Lowell local police.
