PHOENIX, AZ – A heartbreaking incident took place in Phoenix, Arizona, where a man was robbed instead of receiving help as he lay trapped underneath a car he was attempting to fix. Jeronimo Garcia Guerra was reportedly trapped under his family’s vehicle for a significant amount of time after its jack collapsed. He was ultimately crushed to death by the vehicle.
When police finally arrived at the scene, they found that thieves had robbed everything from Guerra’s pockets, looted the car he was fixing, and even made off with the vehicle he had arrived in. The details were reported by Guerra’s family.
His son, Jerry Garcia Jr., expressed that his father had always believed that no one would be there to help in a crisis. In this heartbreaking situation, Guerra was right.
The unfortunate sequence of events began when his wife’s car broke down. Guerra decided to drive his daughter Monica Garcia’s car back to where his wife’s car had stalled in an attempt to repair it. He reached the location around 9:45 AM, but the police were only called around noon, his daughter told the media outlet. She lamented, “Who knows when the car really fell on him. Who knows how long he’s been under there.”
Monica Garcia vividly criticized the spectators who either saw the car fall on her father or saw him trapped but, instead of assisting, chose to rob him.
The Phoenix police are continuing their investigation into the incident and as of now, there have been no arrests.
