Police capture man suspected in serial shooting spree

LAS VEGAS, NV – Authorities in North Las Vegas have apprehended a man suspected of being a serial shooter, accused of targeting various locations, including schools and police buildings. Hector Rodriguez, 36, faces 28 counts related to these incidents.

The arrest follows a series of shootings that began weeks ago, with bullets striking the North Las Vegas Traffic Division building multiple times. On September 15, police discovered bullets lodged in the office, marking the start of a tense investigation.

Four days later, a 13-year-old was shot while walking home from school, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. The same day, gunfire erupted at the W Las Vegas Tower, injuring a person inside.

The violence escalated on September 23 when shots were fired at a gun shop located on the second floor of the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center. Police, who had been monitoring the area, launched a pursuit of Rodriguez on the 215 Beltway, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph.

The chase ended at a gas station where officers arrested Rodriguez. A handgun was found in his possession, and phone records placed him near the crime scenes.

Authorities also linked Rodriguez to shootings at the Clark County Family Court and several homes. Following inquiries from local news investigators, police released photos and videos related to the case.

Rodriguez now faces additional charges as the investigation continues, shedding light on a series of events that have left the community on edge.
