One Army soldier killed and another hospitalized after confrontation in Texas

FORT CAVAZOS, TX – A soldier from Fort Cavazos lost his life while another remains in the hospital following an off-base shooting incident that occurred in central Texas over the weekend. The confirmation of the unfortunate event was made by Army Lt. Col. Charles Patterson on Saturday evening.

The identities of the involved soldiers have yet to be revealed, but it is known that they were both members of the 1st Cavalry Division in the Army’s III Armored Corps stationed at Fort Cavazos, previously recognized as Fort Hood.

Lt. Col. Patterson disclosed that the shooting, which took place on Saturday morning, is currently under investigation by the Army and the Nolanville Police Department. He added that the base is providing support to the families affected by the incident.

The Nolanville Police Department has also confirmed their collaboration with the Fort Cavazos Army Criminal Investigation Division in the ongoing investigation of the incident.

The soldier who survived the incident is reportedly in stable condition, according to Patterson. However, the authorities have yet to release further details about the shooting, including the nature of the dispute that led to the tragic event.
