Mother finds HIV-positive man assaulting 12-year-old daughter

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An Oklahoma woman courageously confronted and detained a youth sports coach, who is HIV-positive, after discovering him sexually abusing her young daughter, police reports confirm.

The mother, whose identity is being kept confidential, found 39-year-old Donovan Scott Sheppard in the midst of assaulting her child. Sheppard had been residing with the family and had returned home with the mother after an altercation at a local bar on January 13.

After returning home, the mother went to bed, leaving her daughter asleep. She later awoke to the distressing sight of Sheppard violating her daughter. Acting swiftly, she held Sheppard at gunpoint until the authorities arrived.

Sheppard, a long-time youth baseball coach for the Oklahoma Aftermath team, admitted to the police that he is HIV-positive. The police report indicated that he was not using any form of protection during the alleged assault.

The young victim disclosed to the police that this was not the first time Sheppard had assaulted her. She reported that Sheppard had violated her six times since she was 11, including an incident on her 12th birthday.

Sheppard is currently detained at the Cleveland County Jail with a bond set at $500,000. He faces multiple charges, including lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child, engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses, exposing others to AIDS, first-degree rape, and rape by instrumentation.
