More than 11 injured in deadly rollover bus crash

LAKE GEORGE, NY – A tragic bus accident has claimed one life and left 11 others injured in the southern Adirondacks, New York, according to state police. The tour bus, en route to New York City, rolled over on Interstate 87, also known as the Adirondack Northway, near Lake George in Warren County, on Friday afternoon.

Details surrounding the cause of the accident remain undisclosed by the police. The bus, operated by Skyway Coach Line, was traveling from Montreal, Canada, and heading southbound on I-87 towards New York City. Footage from the scene depicted the large white and green tour bus lying on its side, with emergency services arriving promptly.

The bus was carrying 24 passengers at the time of the accident. State police have confirmed one fatality resulting from the accident. One of the injured passengers is in critical condition and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, while the other ten suffered minor injuries.

In a public statement, Governor Kathy Hochul expressed her gratitude for the “heroic efforts” of the first responders. She also confirmed that police and Department of Transportation workers were conducting rescue operations at the site.

The southbound highway was temporarily closed between exits 23 and 22. State police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the bus prior to the accident to contact the New York State Police at Troop G Headquarters.
