Mom mysteriously disappears after dropping her kid off at daycare

Madeline Kingsbury, a 26-year-old mother of two from Minnesota, has been missing since March 31.

Authorities have deemed her disappearance involuntary and suspicious. Kingsbury was last seen when she dropped off her two children, aged 5 and 2, at their daycare in Winona alongside their father.

The missing woman worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Mayo Clinic. She returned home around 8:15 a.m. in her 2014 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, but she never appeared at work.

The children’s father, who has not been identified, informed the police that he left their residence around 10 a.m. and found Kingsbury missing when he returned later in the day.

According to Police Chief Tom Williams, it is highly uncharacteristic for Kingsbury to miss work without notice, and there is no evidence suggesting she left on foot or in another vehicle.

Surveillance footage shows a van matching the description of the couple’s vehicle traveling between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Authorities have not disclosed who was driving the van, which was later discovered in the couple’s driveway. Kingsbury’s wallet, cellphone, ID, and the jacket she wore that day were found inside the house, further deepening the mystery surrounding her disappearance.

No suspects or persons of interest have been identified yet.

Megan Kingsbury, Madeline’s older sister, announced that the family is offering a $50,000 reward in exchange for information about her whereabouts. Madeline is described as a hardworking and dedicated mother, and her family is desperate for her return.

The couple’s children are currently safe, and authorities remain hopeful that they will find Madeline. A large-scale search effort was initiated on Friday, with hundreds of volunteers from Minnesota and neighboring Wisconsin participating. The turnout exceeded officials’ expectations.

Volunteers Amy Scheevel and Danica Bauer expressed their determination to help find answers for Madeline’s family and friends, as well as their shock at having such a significant event occur close to home.

Madeline Kingsbury is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She works as a clinical research coordinator at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

An investigation is being conducted by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
