McDonald’s shooting leaves woman dead, suspect arrested

ATLANTA, GA – The Atlanta Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old woman following a fatal altercation at a local McDonald’s restaurant. Law enforcement was called to the scene on Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. right before 2:45 in the afternoon on a Wednesday.

What began as a dispute between two women inside the fast-food establishment escalated into a shooting, leaving one woman tragically dead. Hospital staff pronounced the victim dead due to her sustained gunshot wounds. Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Tamanika Woods, believed to be aged between 30 and 35 years.

Law enforcement has since confirmed the arrest and charges against 19-year-old T’Niya Evans. Evans is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during specific felonies, and theft by receiving stolen property.

Surveillance footage showed the taped-off restaurant property and several police vehicles around the scene. At the scene, a family member of the deceased victim described her as a mother of four and a key figure who will be sorely missed.

Rachel Mitchell, a McDonald’s franchisee, released a statement expressing deep concern over the “senseless act of violence” and confirmed her cooperation with local law enforcement during the investigation. T’Niya Evans is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail as authorities continue their inquiry.
