Texas law enforcement is on the trail of a man, Dmitri Humphrey, suspected of a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of a woman and her dog. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident, which took place on Saturday. Deputies were called to a house on E. Mossy Oaks Road following a shooting report, where they found a woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
Sheriff Gonzalez also stated that Humphrey is suspected of killing the woman’s dog. The victim, a young woman in her twenties, was at the house to help a friend escape an alleged abusive relationship when she and her dog were killed. The Sheriff described the incident as another sorrowful case of domestic violence.
Humphrey, who is also wanted for unrelated felony charges, is thought to have escaped the scene in a white Jeep Wrangler with a Texas license plate TFN4278. Sheriff Gonzalez said that murder charges against Humphrey are being prepared.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about Humphrey’s location or the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477). On Facebook, Sheriff Gonzalez warned against assisting a Texas fugitive, as it could lead to criminal charges.
