SAN ANTONIO, TX – A violent altercation on the city’s west side led to a shooting and subsequent car crash on Monday morning, leaving police to piece together the events. Authorities responded to a Motel 6 near Loop 1604 and Bandera Road shortly after 10:30 a.m., where a dispute between two men reportedly escalated.
According to police, the conflict centered around both men’s involvement with the same woman. The confrontation turned physical, culminating in one man pulling out a firearm and shooting the other. The injured man attempted to flee the scene by car, but crashed a few miles away near Highway 151 and Military Drive.
The severity of the crash resulted in the wounded man being ejected from the vehicle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries attributed to both the gunshot wound and the crash.
Police managed to apprehend the alleged shooter shortly after the incident. He is now in custody as the investigation continues. The woman involved, along with her child, who is believed to be around seven years old, are being interviewed by police as potential witnesses.
