Man shot dead by his 15-year-old brother

BENSON, NC – A horrifying domestic incident took place on Sunday night in Johnston County. This tragic event resulted in the untimely death of a 25-year-old man, who was allegedly shot by his own brother. The alleged shooter accused of killing his sibling is only 15 years old.

The series of events started to unfold when the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on South Pleasant Coates Road, near Benson. They were called to the scene of the crime just past 6:15 p.m. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a shooting victim had been driven to a local fire station at 50-210. Then, he was subsequently taken to WakeMed Hospital by the Johnston County EMS to receive medical treatment.

Further investigations led to the residence of Tracy Marshawn Davis, where the fatal shooting took place. The victim’s father confirmed to the deputies that Davis was shot by his 15-year-old sibling, who also lived at the home.

Despite efforts to save him, Davis ultimately succumbed to the injuries sustained during the shooting and passed away at the hospital. His teenage brother’s identity remains protected due to his underage status. Since the fatal incident took place, the young teen has been taken into secure custody.

Following a juvenile petition, the teenage suspect now faces murder charges in relation to his brother’s death. The investigation into this case is ongoing, with no additional details currently available.
