Q’Juan Tiake Holmes, 35, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal beating, murder, and robbery of his girlfriend. This crime was committed in 2017, but this verdict was just recently decided to determine the fate of the man that murdered Angela Gagne.

On June 4, 2017, Gagne called police to report that Holmes was abusing her. Six days later, Holmes dragged Gagne into a spare bedroom, where he kept her while his brother stole TVs and personal items from her duplex.

Holmes and his brother were at Gagne’s Fort Worth duplex when Holmes dragged her into a spare bedroom and murdered her. He beat her and shot her four times in the head.

The Tarrant County Assistant Criminal District Attorneys laid out the gory details of Gagne’s murder for the jury. During the trial, prosecutors showed pictures of the way Gagne was found on the floor and told the jury that the victim was left “like a piece of garbage” and that the shooter was sitting in the courtroom right before them.

The jury heard testimony from a witness who heard the shooting and recognized the voices of Gagne and Holmes.
