LAS VEGAS, NV – Early Wednesday morning in Southeast Valley, a man was struck by a car shortly after being stabbed, local police officials reported. Residents in the vicinity of the incident, near Harmon Avenue and Nellis Boulevard, expressed concerns for their safety and demanded changes to mitigate such incidents in the future.
Witnesses spoke about the disturbing events that unfolded. Robert Montgomery, who was on his way to work as a crossing guard near the crime scene, described how the entire Nellis area was sealed off. The victim’s body remained at the location until roughly 8 a.m.
At a news conference, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) stated that everything started with a quarrel in front of a residence at around 3 a.m. The dispute escalated, resulting in the man being stabbed. As the victim tried to cross Nellis Boulevard, he was hit by a car. The driver allegedly stopped briefly, removed their vehicle’s damaged bumper, and left the scene.
Detectives are currently investigating to uncover more about the victim and those linked to his death. In the meantime, residents of the area have voiced concerns, claiming that it’s not the first time issues have arisen at that specific address and expressing their hope for changes to ensure the safety of their neighborhood.
At present, police are on the lookout for the hit-and-run driver and the individual tied to the stabbing. The vehicle that was involved in the hit-and-run incident has been described as an orange Dodge Challenger, missing its front bumper.
