Man found dead in home by his family member

PHOENIX, Ariz. – A 62-year-old man was found dead in his north Phoenix home on Friday afternoon, sparking a police investigation. The death occurred at the Garden Club Condominiums near 32nd Street and Greenway Road.

A family member discovered the man, later identified as Thomas Ogden, around 1:40 p.m. and immediately called 911. Officers reported “obvious signs of trauma” on Ogden, although the cause of death is still unknown.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner is currently trying to determine the manner and cause of death while detectives continue their investigation into the incident.

A contractor onsite for a remodeling job noted a “terrible smell” over the past ten days which subsided only after the police cleared the scene. Neighborhood resident Krystal Garcia shared her concerns about the distressing news of an unresolved homicide in the area. “There’s a lot of crime around here,” said Garcia. However, he noted that he didn’t expect murder to happen.

Investigators are looking forward to the medical examiner’s report to shed light on the many questions surrounding this case. “My heart goes out to Mr. Ogden and his family,” Garcia added.
