Man accused of murdering his teenage brothers

POULSBO, WA – A 23-year-old man has been accused of brutally killing his two teenage half-brothers on Wednesday. Seth South faces two counts of second-degree domestic violence murder for the deaths of his siblings, aged 16 and 17, according to Kitsap County Superior Court records.

Authorities responded to a distressing scene at a residence in the 16400 block of Scandia Road Northwest, following a chilling 911 call from South himself. During the call, he claimed that one of his brothers had taken his own life, but unsettling background noises suggested a struggle before the line disconnected.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered one brother’s lifeless body, face down in a blood-soaked kitchen, with two kitchen knives lying nearby. As they searched further, they found the second brother’s body at the top of the staircase, also with a fatal throat wound. Inside the home, at least three firearms were discovered in the bedrooms.

South was not present when deputies arrived and was thought to have fled in his vehicle. After a brief search, law enforcement located South near Bonney Lake later that evening around 8:30 p.m. His truck’s interior and clothing inside were reportedly stained with blood.

During questioning, South allegedly confessed that following an altercation between his brothers, he intervened and fatally stabbed one. Family members told detectives that South admitted to killing “the boys” and mentioned fleeing to target another sibling residing out of state.

On Thursday, a judge ordered South to undergo a competency evaluation at Western State Hospital during a court appearance. He remains in custody and is facing an additional assault charge for allegedly injuring a Pierce County deputy while attempting to escape custody.
