Kindergarten Student Brings Knife to School to Stab Bully in the Heart

South Carolina law enforcement officials are investigating after a 7-year-old kindergartner brought a knife to school. He had plans to threaten a teacher and students with that weapon.

The boy brought the knife from his home to Cherryvale Elementary School.

According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the knife was just over 12 inches long. A teacher spotted the weapon in the student’s backpack when he opened it. The student was not found to have brandished the knife or threatened anyone with it.

The investigation revealed that the child had been inspired to take the knife to school after watching a horror movie. The boy told investigators that he wanted to stab a teacher and students, including another student who he said had been “picking on him.”

The child’s plan was to kill people by stabbing them in the heart, according to investigators. He said he knew how to do it because he had seen it in one of the “Chucky” movies.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, and officials have not been made aware of any warning signs that would have prompted preventive action by school faculty or staff. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
