CHICAGO, IL – A deadly incident involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer unfolded early this morning just outside Chicago. Homeland Security officials report that the confrontation began during a targeted immigration enforcement operation. Officers stopped a vehicle allegedly driven by an undocumented immigrant with a history of reckless driving.
According to officials, the driver initially complied but soon attempted to flee, directing the vehicle toward officers and striking one, dragging them a short distance. Fearing for their life, the officer discharged their weapon, fatally wounding the suspect. Immediate medical attention was provided, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
