Human leg discovered in Wisconsin park

CUDAHY, WI – A chilling find in a local park has prompted an investigation by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. A human leg was discovered by a resident in Warnimont Park, close to the Lake Michigan shoreline, on the evening of Tuesday, April 2.

The leg was found in proximity to the water, east of the park’s golf course and near the pump house. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is treating the case as a possible homicide, according to James Burnett, the acting Chief of Staff. Burnett also confirmed that a person of interest has been taken into custody.

The Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the gruesome find by a park-goer who came across the severed leg. The discovery has shocked the community, leading many to question the safety of their quiet neighborhood.

John Hemmer, a regular visitor to the park, expressed his disbelief. “It’s just amazing to me. In a quiet area like this, something so heinous could happen,” he said.

Located in Cudahy, Wisconsin, a suburb approximately eight miles southeast of downtown Milwaukee, Warnimont Park is typically seen as a safe and peaceful place for families. Eric Ruckstadter, another frequent park visitor, was taken aback by the incident but stated that it would not deter him from visiting the park, as long as others were around.

While the investigation continues, Burnett has confirmed that the leg is indeed human, though further details are being withheld to prevent interference with the ongoing investigation. The process for identifying the leg’s origin or owner has not been disclosed by the deputies.
