PINELLAS PARK, FL – A home invasion in Pinellas Park took a violent turn when the suspect ended up in the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities report that the homeowner defended himself by stabbing the intruder, who is now recovering under police watch.

Police responded to a call at a residence shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspect, identified as a man with multiple stab wounds. Records indicate that he had been released from jail just days earlier after charges in a separate burglary and drug possession case were dropped.

The suspect, who had recently completed work on the home, allegedly forced his way inside. Once inside, he attacked a woman who was alone, tied her up, and waited for another resident to return.

When the second victim arrived, the situation escalated. The suspect reportedly began attacking him with a weapon. In a struggle for survival, the homeowner managed to seize the weapon and used it to stab the intruder in self-defense.

As of the latest updates, the suspect remains stable in the hospital. Upon release, he faces charges including home invasion, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and false imprisonment.

The two residents of the home were treated for minor injuries and are expected to recover. The incident has left the community shaken, highlighting concerns about repeat offenders and the risks they pose.
