ORLANDO, FL – A Georgia man faces serious charges after a violent altercation in downtown Orlando led to the death of a bystander who tried to intervene.
Jordan Talley, 27, has been charged with manslaughter and domestic battery following the March 31 incident, according to arrest records. The confrontation occurred around 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Robinson Street and Magnolia Avenue and was captured on surveillance video.
Authorities report that Talley was seen assaulting a woman, pulling her by her hair and throwing her to the ground. The victim’s screams for help caught the attention of 64-year-old Donald Storie, who was walking nearby with his family. Storie approached the couple in an attempt to assist the woman, but Talley responded by punching him.
Storie was hospitalized and remained on life support until he passed away on April 23. The tragic incident has left his family and the local community in shock.
Further investigation led detectives to trace a car seen in the surveillance footage back to Talley’s residence in Georgia. Talley was subsequently apprehended by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
During questioning, Talley admitted to punching Storie, stating he was acting out of concern for his girlfriend’s safety. The case continues to unfold as authorities seek justice for the deceased bystander.
