Four people dead in residential shooting

An unsettling event unfolded in northern Idaho on Sunday when a shooting left four people dead. The main suspect, a 31-year-old man and neighbor of the victims, was detained at the scene and is now in custody under suspicion of murder, as per the state police.

Kellogg, a small city located approximately 36 miles east of Coeur d’Alene, is the focal point of an ongoing investigation by the Idaho State Police. Officers have been relentlessly working since Sunday to unravel the tragic incident.

This horrific occurrence has left the community of Kellogg in shock. State Police are working meticulously to build a timeline of the event and identify what sparked the fatal shooting. The state police confirmed the suspect as a neighbor to the victims.

However, details regarding the relationships among all the involved parties and the alleged shooter’s motive are yet to be disclosed by law enforcement. These details are expected to surface following the suspect’s initial court appearance when the court records will become publicly available.

The victims’ remains are currently under the care of the Shoshone County Coroner’s Office, while the accused is held at the Shoshone County Jail.

An apartment complex in Kellogg, reportedly the site of the incident, was blocked off for investigations on Monday. The shooting reportedly happened at residential units situated behind the Mountain View Congregational Church.

The alarm was raised around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, when a distressing 911 call reported multiple fatalities at a residence in Kellogg. On arrival, law enforcement officials discovered four deceased individuals and immediately detained the suspect.

Police confirmed that all four victims succumbed to gunshot wounds.

The local police department has yet to release additional information related to the incident.
