Five people shot in shopping center parking lot

WOODLAWN, MD – Early on Saturday morning, a shooting incident at a Woodlawn shopping center was reported to authorities. The gunfire resulted in multiple casualties. Baltimore County detectives are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Emergency services responded to a disruption in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Drive around 4:05 a.m. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found five adults suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, one of the victims of the shooting had already succumbed to their injuries. Meanwhile, the other shooting victims were immediately transported to local hospitals to receive medical care.

During the investigation, detectives’ focus has been diverted to an on-site white sedan featuring shattered windows. Baltimore County Police Detective, Trae Corbin, theorized that victims were presumably in the vehicle when the shooting occurred.

Local businessman Chaudry Mahmood expressed his unsurprise over the incident. He noted that businesses in the area, like the nearby 7-Eleven, have previously experienced criminal activity such as robbery.

Baltimore County investigators are presently encouraging anyone with relevant information about the shooting or the perpetrators to come forward. They are particularly interested in surveillance footage from local businesses that could potentially provide essential leads in the case.

In an effort to expedite the process, a reward will be given to anyone whose information significantly assists the detectives. Anonymous informants may contact Metro Crime Stoppers as well to provide additional insight into the case.
