INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Federal agents are intensifying their search for a suspect following the recent crackdown on violent drug gangs operating in Indianapolis. On Friday, authorities announced a federal indictment naming 14 individuals, 13 of whom are now in custody. The operation, part of an ongoing effort to dismantle criminal networks in the city, has revealed the extent of violence intertwined with drug trafficking activities.
The dawn raids conducted last week yielded substantial evidence of drug-related crimes, including acts of violence such as kidnapping, gunfire, and the use of Molotov cocktails. The suspects are accused of employing brutal tactics to enforce their operations, which include pistol-whipping and shooting narcotics customers. The distribution network reportedly dealt in cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin, with several drug houses identified throughout Indianapolis.
A particularly heinous crime linked to the gang’s activities was a murder that occurred during a drug deal last November on West 30th Street. Federal documents implicate one of the alleged conspirators in this killing, while another suspect, Taneisha Turner, has admitted to driving a getaway car from the murder scene.
Among those arrested are the Bullet brothers, Adream and Avery, who face federal drug conspiracy charges. Their criminal history dates back a decade, tied to the notorious Grundy Gang. The Grundy Gang was infamous for its violent drug operations across Indianapolis, which led to several members being imprisoned or killed. Richard Grundy III, a key figure in the gang, is currently serving a life sentence in federal prison for narcotics trafficking.
The Bullet brothers, despite being charged with serious crimes in the past, were not convicted of the most severe allegations against them, including murder and conspiracy to commit murder. If found guilty of the current charges, they could face life imprisonment.
Authorities continue their search for Lamar Browning, the only suspect still at large. He is considered armed and dangerous, and the public is urged to contact the FBI if they have any information on his whereabouts.
