SEGUIN, TX – In a sweeping operation against sexual predators, local authorities have apprehended over a dozen suspects, with several accused of targeting children. Dubbed “Operation Rolling Thunder,” this initiative marks a significant step in Guadalupe County’s ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation.
Sheriff Joshua Ray of Guadalupe County emphasized the importance of this mission, stating that the crackdown on those who prey on children remains a top priority. This recent operation is the second of its kind led by the sheriff’s office.
The multi-agency effort resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals on charges of solicitation of prostitution. Among them, seven suspects were specifically targeting minors, according to the sheriff’s office.
In addition to the arrests, authorities were able to identify three women as victims and locate a juvenile who had been reported missing. The operation was a collaboration among several law enforcement agencies, including the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, San Antonio Police Department, and U.S. Border Patrol.
Sheriff Ray explained that the suspects were deceived into believing they were communicating with minors, only to be confronted by law enforcement during attempted meet-ups. This proactive approach underscores the county’s commitment to safeguarding its youth.
The sheriff expressed a firm stance against such criminal activities, vowing not to wait for incidents to occur but to actively prevent them. He warned potential offenders that Guadalupe County will not tolerate such behavior and that those caught will face legal consequences.
The names of the arrested individuals have not yet been released, but the sheriff’s office has assured the public that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
As the operation continues, authorities remain vigilant in their efforts to protect children from exploitation, sending a clear message to those who seek to harm them.
