Couple found dead at home in murder-suicide

TRIANGLE, VA – Authorities have discovered the death of a couple in Triangle, Virginia, on Sunday evening. The Prince William County Police is currently investigating the incident as a murder-suicide case.

The police reported that they received a call around 6 p.m. They were asked to look into a death that took place at a residence in the 18300 block of Cabin Road in Triangle. Upon arrival, they found two bodies of people who were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Investigations revealed that the deceased were 42-year-old Nicholas Allen Smith Withrow and his 30-year-old wife, Brittnee Yvonne Posey. A gun was found in the home, which further led the police to believe that the deadly gunfire resulted from an argument between the couple.

Though the situation was distressing, the police assured that there was no ongoing threat to the Triangle community. Authorities concluded that the fatal incident appeared to be confined to the house.

The death of the couple drew concern from a neighbor, who mentioned their worry for the young children living in the house. The police confirmed that a 3-year-old girl was present in the house at the time of the incident, albeit unharmed. The authorities have since released her to a family member’s custody.
