Canada’s Protests Spread Worldwide

(InformingNews.com) – The Freedom Convoy in Canada is spreading quickly. The protests of vaccine mandates captured the world’s attention, and other countries are seeing similar events.

The Canadian protests became an issue for the United States when the convoy blocked Ambassador Bridge, a major transportation route in Detroit, MI, going into Canada. Protestors closed it down for days, forcing truckers to find an alternative path and leading to production issues for major automakers. Now, the movement is spreading into the United States and Europe.

In the United States, the Convoy to Save America has relayed plans to meet in New York, while other protests are set to take place in California and Tennessee. The People’s Convoy is organizing and preparing to head to Washington, D.C. in time for President Biden’s State of the Union Address.

In Europe, trucks are moving across France under the name “le convoi de la liberte,” which is French for “freedom convoy.” They are working toward their capital to block the Champs Elysees. The French convoy has plans to go on to the European Union headquarters in Brussels after finishing in Paris.

The reach of the convoys and their anti-mandate message has stretched as far as New Zealand. Protestors, calling themselves the Convoy for Freedom, camped outside parliament and blocked streets into the capital city of Wellington for days.

The worldwide movement seems to have come as people are growing weary of COVID-19 restrictions. Through these protests, people are saying they are over it and won’t stand for governments telling them what to do anymore.
