This discovery followed an extensive search effort that began after Valdez was last seen jogging over the Edison Bridge on Wednesday night.
Video footage from a traffic camera captured Valdez’s last known movements, showing her running across the bridge. Her disappearance prompted a community-wide search, with volunteers and law enforcement scouring the area for any signs of her. The search efforts were concentrated along the northern banks of the Caloosahatchee River, where deputies ultimately found her body.
