Six cows found dead under mysterious circumstance

Residents of three counties in Texas were horrified to recently learn that six cattle had been found dead, with their tongues removed, the hide around one side of their mouths gone and no blood spilled.

The five adults and one yearling may have died from causes unknown, with no updates in the case as of Friday. More disturbing yet, not a single piece of evidence was found in their grassy surroundings – no signs of a struggle, no footprints or tracks, nothing to provide a lead or even suggest what may have happened.

What’s worse, this isn’t the first round of mystery cattle deaths in the United States. Late last year, five dead bulls were located in Oregon with their sex organs and tongues similarly removed. Though speculation ranged from carrion bugs to extraterrestrial activity, investigators confidentially resolved the case as an act of nature. Now the Madison County Sheriff’s Office is working with other law enforcement agencies for a similar result in the Lone Star State.

The cause of death for the six Texas cattle is still blankly unknown at this time and authorities are left in the clouds. As it stands, there is no indication that anything other than commonplace predators are to blame. Although, the accurate cuts around the jaw lines of each animal, in addition to the lack of disturbance of their environment, has lead many to offer up more controversial ideas as to what may have transpired.

As the Madison County Sheriff’s Office coordinates with other law enforcement authorities on the cattle deaths, the aim is to hopefully solve this bizarre case soon.
