MORONI, SANPETE COUNTY – The tragic death of 16-year-old Brinley Bailey has left her community in mourning after a dirt bike accident in the mountains near Manti. The fatal incident occurred on Saturday when Brinley veered off a trail and fell over a cliff while accompanying her father, Keith Bailey, who is struggling with the devastating loss alongside his wife, Jennifer.
Brinley, fondly described by her family as a beacon of light, touched numerous lives with her vibrant spirit. Known by her father’s endearing nickname “little buddy,” Brinley shared a special bond with Keith, enjoying countless outings on dirt bikes and snowmobiles. Her passion for these activities was notable, as she participated in a national snowmobile team.
A student-athlete, Brinley played softball and tennis, embodying an active lifestyle and leaving a significant impression at her school.
As the eldest of four sisters, her relationship with her younger sister Breanne was particularly close. Breanne, just two years her junior, fondly recalls their shared experiences- rides to school, lunches, and tennis matches- and is devastated by the void left in her absence.
The Bailey family, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, find solace in their faith during this moment of heartbreak.
In the wake of their loss, the family has been comforted by the community’s outpouring of love and support. They expressed deep gratitude for the prayers and encouragement and requested the continued prayers of those around them during this challenging time.
