Woman stabs husband, drives car into lake with kids inside

CARROLLTON, TX – North Texas authorities report that a woman allegedly stabbed her husband and subsequently drove her car into a retention pond with the couple’s three children inside. The Carrollton Police Department (CPD) said that officers responded on Friday to a domestic violence incident that involved a man who had been stabbed with a knife. Police were also notified about a subsequent accident where a vehicle was driven into a retention pond just after the initial stabbing.

Carrollton Fire Rescue received a call at 7:48 a.m. on Friday from a man alleging that he had been stabbed by his wife. Upon arrival, they transported the individual to a hospital for further treatment. As of the latest reports, officials said he is expected to survive.

Simultaneously, in another 911 call in the Lewisville area, officers from the Lewisville Police Department responded to reports of one adult woman, later confirmed to be the man’s wife, and their three children aged 8, 9, and 12 who were inside a vehicle driven into a lake.

First responders were able to rescue the woman, identified as Wei Fen Ong as well as the children from the vehicle. While one child managed to free himself, the other two were resuscitated- one at the scene and the other on the way to the hospital.

One child remains in critical condition while the other two are reportedly stable. Wei Fen Ong is currently in custody at the Carrollton Police Department. She faces one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that resulted in serious bodily injury. Additionally, she also faces three counts of aggravated assault using a deadly weapon. All criminal charges are being filed with the Denton County District Attorney.

Family members have been notified of the incident and are cooperating with the police investigation.
