Woman shot in Meijer parking lot following road rage incident

YPSILANTI, MI – A road rage incident resulted in a 46-year-old woman from Ann Arbor being shot in a Meijer parking lot early Friday morning. Police are currently investigating the criminal case, which marked a violent end to an argument between two women in an otherwise peaceful Ypsilanti area.

The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. in the Meijer parking lot on Carpenter Road, Ypsilanti. When they arrived at the scene of the shooting, Pittsfield Police Department officers promptly discovered the victim. She was injured and bleeding from an arm wound. The 46-year-old woman was rushed to Trinity Health Ann Arbor and is now reported to be in stable condition.

Police managed to locate the suspect, a 28-year-old woman from Ypsilanti Township, at a nearby location. She has since been taken into custody and is currently held at the Washtenaw County Jail while charges are being reviewed.

Various local law enforcement agencies, including Michigan State Police, Ann Arbor police, Milan police, and officers from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, also responded to the scene. All of the officers present at the scene helped to maintain order and locate the suspect.
