Woman shot and killed by stray bullet

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Stray gunfire claimed the life of an innocent victim on Friday. According to Philadelphia police, a person of interest in this case has been taken into custody. The incident reportedly unfolded following a major brawl involving both men and women on Tampa Street’s 3400 block in the Kensington neighborhood in the afternoon.

As per police sources, during the altercation, a woman brandished a gun, which was subsequently seized by a man who began firing. A witness to the scene and several others took refuge in a house located on Crystal Street, about a block away. Here, a 59-year-old individual fell victim to the shooting, getting hit in the chest by a bullet. The stray gunfire was reportedly fired from outside the house.

Later in the day, local law enforcement and SWAT teams cordoned off a house on the 1300 block of St. Vincent Street, leading to a barricade situation. A person of interest was subsequently brought in for questioning from the site. Additionally, a white Buick belonging to the person under scrutiny was also towed for potential evidence collection.

Police are now in the process of obtaining search warrants to examine the property and the vehicle on the premises.

While police sources indicate they are on the lookout for at least one more person of interest, no firearms have been recovered from the scene as of yet. The victim of the stray bullet attack has not been identified.
