Woman seriously injured in stabbing

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – The search is intensifying for a suspect involved in a stabbing incident in West Hollywood. The altercation, which took place outside a bar on Santa Monica Boulevard, has left a woman seriously injured.

Residents and workers in the area expressed growing concerns about safety. The investigation lasted throughout the day, resulting in the closure of Santa Monica Boulevard between Robertson and San Vincente Boulevards until late afternoon. Many local establishments, including popular restaurants and bars, remained closed, creating an unusual quietness in one of the city’s busiest areas.

A restaurant owner shared that they had to cancel a planned brunch for 60 guests due to the street closures. The unexpected shutdown left the usually bustling area eerily silent, highlighting the gravity of the incident.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the victim, a woman in her 20s, was stabbed in the upper body following an altercation near the Tom Tom Restaurant and Bar around 3 a.m. The specifics of the fight remain unclear, but it involved multiple individuals, eventually escalating between two women.

The injured woman was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Community members voiced their unease, noting an increase in crime in recent years. “It’s scary, but not surprising,” one resident remarked, reflecting on the changes in the neighborhood.

Authorities have not yet identified a suspect, and the severity of the victim’s injuries has prompted the involvement of the department’s homicide unit. The public is encouraged to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
