LARGO, FL – The search for 26-year-old Joanna Clark intensified today as authorities believe she may have been kidnapped by her former boyfriend, Gervonta Bell, for the third time. Clark was reportedly last seen at the Crescent Lane apartments on Gany Boulevard early this morning, where witnesses say she was forced into her car.
Police located Clark’s vehicle this evening in the 6500 block of Alberton Road near Highway 19, but neither Clark nor Bell were found. Investigators suspect they have switched to a different dark sedan.
Neighbors at the apartment complex identified Bell as the man involved in the abduction. Witness Justin Crombie recounted hearing Clark scream, “Get off me,” as he saw her being forced into a Nissan sedan by Bell, who then drove off after colliding with parked cars.
Court records reveal that Bell has been accused of kidnapping Clark twice before, once in Clearwater and another time in Hillsboro County. In one incident, Bell and an accomplice, both masked and armed, reportedly took Clark from her location. They were found 18 hours later at Bell’s mother’s house in Largo, but the charges were eventually dropped.
Crombie, who has known Clark for two years, described her as a dedicated mother and certified nursing assistant. “She’s always been really sweet and on the right path,” he said. Despite witnessing the abduction, Crombie managed to note the car’s license plate, aiding the police in their investigation.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information regarding Clark’s whereabouts. The investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone with details to come forward.
