NEW YORK CITY, NY – In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old woman lost her life after falling from a renowned high-rise building in Manhattan’s upscale Upper East Side neighborhood. Reportedly, she was found dead on Thursday evening close to The Brittany, merely a short distance from Mayor Eric Adams’ Gracie Mansion residence.
While there are minimal signs of criminality associated with the incident, the police investigation remains ongoing. The deceased woman was said to have exhibited injuries indicative of falling from an elevated surface.
The news of the incident initially portrayed the woman as barely alive after her discovery at around 7 pm. However, despite being rushed promptly to the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell hospital, she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
The Brittany, where the incident unfolded, is reputed for its upscale amenities, which include a grand entrance with a round-the-clock doorman, spectacularly landscaped gardens featuring a sparkling fountain, a two-story luxury lobby, and a landscaped rooftop sundeck with stunning views of the river and city. Furthermore, it offers a fully-equipped 7,000 sq. ft. fitness club, a 55-foot indoor swimming pool, and separate saunas for men and women.
Tenants of The Brittany enjoy picturesque vistas of both the East and Harlem rivers from their apartments. Monthly rents for a single-bedroom unit are approximately $4,000, while two-bedroom apartments are priced up to $7,500, as per listings on StreetEasy.
