INDIANAPOLIS, IN – An Indianapolis woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a cold case double homicide from 2021. Authorities announced the arrest of 25-year-old Tedeja Davis, who is accused of facilitating the murder of Ashanti Robinson, 21, and Patrice Jones, 23, outside an apartment complex.
The fatal shooting, captured on surveillance video, unfolded in March 2021. Two assailants ambushed and killed Robinson and Jones, devastating their families. Although Davis was not one of the shooters, court documents reveal she played a significant role in the crime.
Investigators allege Davis drove the perpetrators to and from the scene, remaining present during the attack. Her involvement, likened to that of a getaway driver in a robbery, has led to her being charged with murder. This charge is part of a strategy to hold the shooters accountable, according to legal experts.
The case, revived by the unsolved homicide cold case unit earlier this year, had remained stagnant until Davis’s arrest. Authorities cited Davis’s inconsistent statements and repeated lies about her connections to the shooters as critical factors in the investigation.
Despite ongoing efforts, the suspected shooters have not been charged, though police have questioned them multiple times. The arrest of Davis is seen as a critical step in seeking justice for the victims’ families, who have endured years of unanswered questions.
Davis is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Thursday. She is currently held without bond, as the legal process begins to unfold.
The community remains hopeful that Davis’s arrest will lead to further breakthroughs in the case, offering some solace to the grieving families.
