Woman brutally murdered in Metro train stabbing

STUDIO CITY, CA – A fatal stabbing took place early Monday on a Metro train transiting between the North Hollywood and Universal/Studio City stations. The incident resulted in the death of a woman, according to the police.

The attack happened around 5 a.m. as the train was en route to downtown Los Angeles but had yet to reach the Universal/Studio City Station situated on Lankershim Boulevard near Universal Studios Hollywood. This information was revealed during a morning update given by the police.

Once the victim was discovered by the authorities, Metro security personnel provided support until the arrival of emergency paramedics. Despite their efforts, the woman unfortunately died in the hospital.

Describing the event, LAPD’s Meghan Aguilar remarked, “It was a very violent scene.” She continued, adding, “This was a completely unprovoked attack. At least, that’s how it appears now.”

The attacker was apprehended by the police approximately 30 minutes later in the proximity of Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue. The investigation, which caused trains to bypass the station, was anticipated to last several hours.

The police are asking the public for information related to the incident. They have advised that anyone with relevant details to the case to contact the LA Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline.
