Two teens shot in a drive-by shooting, 15-year-old killed

CINCINNATI, OH – In a tragic incident in Bond Hill, a teenager was killed and another injured in a drive-by shooting, as reported by the Cincinnati Police Department. The event unfolded around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday on Paddock Road. Responding to the scene, the police found two victims in a parking lot, both with gunshot wounds.

A 15-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene, as revealed by homicide investigators in a news release on Friday. The second victim was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by the Cincinnati Fire Department. The police have chosen not to disclose further details about the surviving victim while the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased teenager is the seventh minor to fall victim to gun violence in Cincinnati this year, a significant increase from four at this point last year, according to the latest police data. Despite the surge in juvenile gun violence, the city’s overall homicide rate remains stable. The teenager is the 51st homicide victim this year, a decrease from 60 at this time last year.

Cincinnati’s homicide investigators have a track record of solving their cases at rates exceeding the national average. This success is credited to the department’s committed officers, data-driven strategies, modern technology, surveillance cameras, and Crime Stoppers, a system that enables the community to anonymously submit tips. The police are encouraging anyone with information about the teenager’s murder to reach out to the Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers.
