Two men hospitalized in police shooting

CHANDLER, AZ – A violent shooting incident that unfolded in Chandler, involving law enforcement officials, has landed two people in the hospital, according to Chandler Police. The incident occurred in a residential area around McClintock Drive and Chandler Boulevard on March 3. The initial gunfire erupted between two male individuals adjacent to a house. It has been reported that one of them was armed.

Contrary to the orders to surrender, the armed individual, reportedly in his 50s, chose to shoot the other man, according to Chandler Police’s account of the incident. In response to this act, officers on the scene opened fire on the armed man.

The aftermath led to both men, the armed shooter and the victim, being transported to the hospital. While ongoing inquiries aim to clarify their relationship, no further details are available at this time.

A woman, who chose to remain unidentified, recounted how her friend and her children took cover in a laundry room closet out of fear, having no awareness of the evolving situation. Her friend’s husband, who she later learned had been the victim of the shooting, is currently in the hospital.

A long-time resident of the neighborhood, dwelling in the area for 20 years, communicated their shock at this unusual and threatening incident.
