WAYNE COUNTY, GA – Two children have been charged in relation to the tragic death of 8-year-old Noah Bush, announced by the local Sheriff’s Office. Noah, who was reported missing on May 15, was later found dead in a water-filled pit at a construction site in Jesup.
The autopsy results, which took several weeks to complete, determined that Noah drowned with no signs of physical altercation. However, the Sheriff’s office has declared his death a homicide based on investigative findings. It was reported that one of the juveniles, who was with Noah at the time, pushed him into a deeper part of the pit, leading to his drowning.
The juveniles, aged 10 and 11, whose names have not been disclosed due to their age, are facing charges, including concealing the death of another person and criminal trespassing. The 11-year-old is additionally charged with involuntary manslaughter and simple battery.
This incident has deeply affected the community, particularly Noah’s family, who are calling for further accountability. “There will be no peace until justice is served,” stated Demetrice Bush, Noah’s mother, during a press conference with their legal representatives from the Davis Bozeman Johnson law firm. The family had hired the law firm for a private investigation due to initial disagreements with the official stance on Noah’s fear of water and the circumstances of his death.
The ongoing investigation, which includes a review of available video evidence, might lead to more charges if further incriminating information surfaces. The local Sheriff emphasized that any new findings implicating additional individuals would be addressed promptly. Meanwhile, the case continues to garner attention as the community and Noah’s family seek justice for the young boy.
